Privacy Policy
How Gyms Guide handles contact-form information, server logs, cookies, analytics, advertising data and privacy choices.
Scope of this Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Gyms Guide handles information when a person visits gyms-guide.com, uses a calculator or directory, follows an external link, interacts with advertising or submits the contact form. “We,” “us” and “Gyms Guide” refer to the independent operator of this informational website.
The policy does not control a gym, advertising provider, analytics provider or other external website. Those parties determine their own collection and use practices. When you leave Gyms Guide, review the privacy information provided by the destination service.
Information we collect
Information you provide voluntarily
The contact form can collect your name, reply email address, inquiry type, optional related URL, message and confirmation that you reviewed this policy. If you contact us about an earlier submission, we may use the information you provide to locate and respond to that record.
Do not submit payment-card information, gym-account passwords, government identifiers, sensitive health details or private documents. Gyms Guide does not need that information to review a public price, policy, accessibility or technical issue.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting environment may create server logs containing an IP address, request time, requested URL, response status, browser or device information, referring page and basic security events. These records help deliver pages, investigate errors, prevent abuse and maintain availability. We may use aggregate performance information to understand whether pages work across mobile and desktop devices.
Calculator and search activity
The gym cost calculator performs the calculation in your browser and does not require a user account. Search terms may be processed in the browser or in normal server logs depending on the request. Do not enter personal or sensitive information into the search box or calculator fields.
How we use information
- Respond to contact submissions and privacy requests.
- Investigate factual corrections and official source updates.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the website.
- Measure aggregate traffic, page performance and feature use.
- Detect spam, automated abuse and fraudulent activity.
- Maintain records needed for legal obligations or dispute handling.
- Display and measure advertising when monetization services are enabled.
Cookies, local storage and similar technologies
Cookies are small data files stored by a browser. Gyms Guide or its service providers may use cookies, local storage, pixels or comparable technologies for essential operation, security, audience measurement, consent management, fraud prevention, frequency capping and advertising.
Essential technologies may be needed for features such as contact-form security and privacy choices. Analytics technologies help measure aggregate use. Advertising technologies can help select, deliver and measure ads. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, although doing so may affect certain features or require you to repeat a privacy choice.
Google AdSense and Google advertising cookies
Gyms Guide may use Google AdSense to display advertisements. When Google advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads, limit how often an ad appears, prevent fraud, measure performance and, where permitted, personalize advertising based on a user's visits to this and other websites.
Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits. Users can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. Information about how Google uses data from sites and apps that use its services is available through Google's partner-sites privacy information. Visitors can also review industry opt-out choices through the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool.
Non-personalized ads can still use cookies or similar identifiers for functions such as fraud prevention, frequency capping and aggregated reporting. We do not send contact-form names, email addresses or message content to Google for advertising personalization.
Consent messages and privacy choices
Where consent is required, including for certain users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the site will use an appropriate consent-management process before using advertising cookies or processing data for personalized ads. Google requires publishers serving personalized ads in those regions to use a Google-certified consent management platform where applicable.
A consent message may offer choices such as consent, refusal, manage options or later revocation. The exact choices depend on location, applicable law and the advertising services active at the time. You may also use browser controls, device settings and advertising-provider controls.
Advertising transparency
Advertising is intended to be visually distinguishable from editorial content. We do not ask users to click ads, promise rewards for ad interactions or intentionally place ads where a visitor is likely to mistake them for navigation, downloads or form controls. Editorial conclusions are not changed because an advertiser or ad network may benefit from a page.
Service providers and disclosure
We may use companies that provide hosting, security, performance monitoring, analytics, consent management, email delivery or advertising. They may process limited information on our behalf or under their own privacy terms. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users or the site, investigate abuse, enforce our terms or respond to a valid legal process.
We do not publish contact-form submissions and do not sell the contents of a private message. Some U.S. privacy laws use broad definitions of “sale” or “sharing” that can include certain advertising-data transfers even when no money is paid for personal information. Where such rights apply, we will provide the legally required choices through the relevant consent or privacy interface.
How long information is retained
Contact submissions are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, investigate a correction, maintain an editorial record, prevent abuse or meet a legal obligation. Server and security logs are generally retained for operational periods set by the hosting or security provider. Aggregate or de-identified statistics may be retained longer because they do not directly identify an individual.
Retention periods can vary when a record is needed for an unresolved dispute, security incident or legal requirement. When information is no longer reasonably needed, we seek to delete, anonymize or securely dispose of it.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction or deletion of personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, or to opt out of certain targeted advertising, sale or sharing. These rights are not absolute and may be subject to identity verification and legal exceptions.
Submit a privacy request through the contact form and choose “Privacy request.” Provide the reply address associated with the relevant submission and enough detail to understand the request. Do not send extra identity documents unless we specifically explain why they are necessary.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to reduce unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. The contact form uses server-side validation, a security token, spam controls and protected routing. The receiving address is not exposed in public HTML or JavaScript.
No internet transmission or storage method is guaranteed to be completely secure. Visitors should avoid sending sensitive information and should use the official gym's secure account channel for membership or payment matters.
Children's privacy
Gyms Guide is a general-audience informational website and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children. If a parent or guardian believes a child submitted information, a deletion request can be made through the contact form.
External links
Articles link to official gym pages, support resources and other third-party sites. A link does not mean Gyms Guide controls the destination's privacy, security or content. Information entered after leaving this site is governed by the destination provider.
Policy updates and contact
We may revise this policy when services, advertising practices or legal requirements change. The review date at the top identifies the current published version. Questions or requests should be submitted through the secure contact page; no private recipient address is displayed publicly.
